Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced

Freelance Internal Moderator

for our NEBDN dental nursing courses to review and moderate student work remotely via PebblePad. This is an

immediate start

freelance position offering flexible working arrangements for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Moderate NEBDN Record of Experience (RoE)

and Record of Competence (RoC) submissions via PebblePad platform

Quality assurance

of student assessments in line with NEBDN standards and provider sampling strategy

Provide constructive feedback

to tutors following internal moderation activities

Ensure consistent, fair and non-discriminatory

moderation practices

Review student portfolios

to ensure compliance with NEBDN competency requirements

Maintain accurate records

of moderation activities and decisions

Collaborate remotely

with our academic team and tutors

Support quality management

processes and procedures
Essential Qualifications Internal Quality Assurance Qualification (Essential)

One of the following Level 4 IQA qualifications from any recognized awarding body:

Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF)

(preferred - includes practical assessment)

Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF)

(excellent - leadership level)

Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF)

(theory-based - practical experience required)

Legacy Internal Verifier qualifications

(V1, D34, or equivalent A, D & V units)

Accepted from awarding bodies including:

NCFE, Pearson/Edexcel, TQUK, Qualsafe, NOCN, EAL, Innovate Awarding, IMI, or other Ofqual-regulated providers

Teaching/Assessment Qualifications

One of the following NEBDN-recognised teaching certificates:

Level 4 Certificate to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector

(preferred) Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector

Diploma to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector

Award in Education

(Level 3, 4 or 5)

Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

Professional Registration

GDC Registration

as a Dental Care Professional (essential) Current and valid GDC registration with no restrictions
Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 years

experience in dental nursing education/training

Proven experience

in assessment and internal moderation

Knowledge of NEBDN qualifications

and assessment standards

Understanding of PebblePad

or similar e-portfolio systems (training provided if needed)
Desirable Qualifications

Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA)

Experience with NEBDN RoE/RoC

moderation

Post-registration dental nursing qualifications

(e.g., Radiography, OHE, Sedation)

Experience working with dental training providers

Technical Requirements

Reliable internet connection for remote access Computer/laptop capable of accessing PebblePad platform Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

100% Remote position

Compensation

Competitive freelance rates

(15-25 per hour depending on experience)

Payment per moderation activity

or

monthly retainer

(negotiable)

Invoicing on agreed schedule
