Electrically Biased Design Manager - 6-Month Contract

We're looking for an experienced

electrically biased Design Manager

to help us successfully deliver the final stages of a major upgrade at Beckton Wastewater Treatment Works - one of the largest treatment plants in Europe. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you'll bring technical expertise, coordination skills, and a collaborative approach to ensure a smooth finish.

What you'll be doing

Managing and reviewing electrical design deliverables to ensure compliance with contractual, statutory, and technical requirements. Overseeing coordination between electrical design, other disciplines, and site teams to maintain programme and buildability. Managing technical queries, changes, and assurance documentation in the run-up to commissioning and handover. Engaging with consultants, subcontractors, and the client to resolve design challenges quickly and effectively. Supporting construction activities, quality assurance, and final documentation to close out the project.

What we're looking for

Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (Chartered status desirable). Proven experience as a Design Manager (electrical bias) in complex infrastructure projects - ideally in water, wastewater, or process-driven environments. Strong understanding of multi-disciplinary coordination and working to tight deadlines. Ability to interpret and apply design management processes from concept through to handover. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
