Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freelance Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to support the quality assurance of Early Years qualifications. The role involves monitoring and ensuring the quality and consistency of assessments conducted by assessors, ensuring compliance with awarding body and regulatory requirements, and supporting assessors in maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities:



Quality Assurance:

Conduct regular sampling of assessment decisions to ensure consistency and fairness.

Standardization:

Support assessors in maintaining high-quality assessment practices and ensure standardization across all assessors.

Compliance:

Ensure that assessment and IQA processes comply with awarding body and Ofsted/EYFS requirements.

Feedback & Support:

Provide constructive feedback to assessors and offer guidance on best practices.

Training & Development:

Support assessors through standardization meetings, training sessions, and one-to-one guidance.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of IQA activities, including reports, sampling plans, and feedback logs.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify areas for improvement in assessment and IQA processes and contribute to quality improvement plans.

Awarding Body Liaison:

Work closely with awarding organizations to ensure all assessments meet external verification requirements.

Essential Requirements:



Qualifications:

Relevant IQA qualification (e.g., Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice or equivalent). Assessor qualification (e.g., Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent). Relevant Early Years qualification (e.g., Level 3 or above in Childcare, Early Years, or related field).

Experience:

Previous experience as an IQA within the Early Years sector. Experience in assessing Early Years qualifications, including apprenticeships. Knowledge of awarding body requirements and Ofsted/EYFS regulations.

Skills:

Strong understanding of assessment methodologies and quality assurance principles. Excellent communication and coaching skills. Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.

Desirable:



Experience with remote assessment and e-portfolios. Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and End-Point Assessment (EPA). Experience in delivering standardization meetings and training.
Job Type: Freelance

Pay: 15.00-20.00 per hour
