Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer networking and IT infrastructure, with expertise in both local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN). This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining network solutions that ensure high availability and security across our systems. The Network Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to support network operations and enhance our overall network architecture.

Duties

Design, configure, and manage network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Implement security measures such as firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and encryption protocols to safeguard the network. Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and PRTG to ensure optimal operation. Troubleshoot network issues across various platforms including Cisco ASA, Meraki, and Juniper devices. Collaborate with system administrators to integrate cloud services (AWS, Azure) into the existing infrastructure. Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement necessary remediation strategies. Manage IP addressing schemes using DHCP and DNS services. Develop automation scripts using Python or Bash for network management tasks. Maintain documentation for network configurations, procedures, and policies. Provide technical support for network-related issues to internal teams.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in network engineering with a strong understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), TCP/IP stack, and network protocols (HTTP/S, FTP). Familiarity with WAN technologies such as MPLS and VPN configurations. Experience with firewall management (Cisco ASA), load balancing solutions, and high availability setups. Proficiency in operating systems including Windows, Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), and UNIX variants (Solaris). Knowledge of cloud security practices within AWS or Azure environments is preferred. Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation tasks. Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware or Citrix is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work collaboratively in an Agile environment. Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or equivalent are desirable but not mandatory.
