programmes to businesses across the UK. We work closely with HR and L&D teams to deliver impactful, tailored learning solutions to help develop their people and embed the learning for the long-term. We are looking for a self-driven business development professional to help us generate new business opportunities, build a strong pipeline and connect with HR / L&D managers in target organisations.
The Role
We're seeking an experienced
freelance business development professional
to help us expand our client base across the UK. You'll be responsible for identifying and engaging with HR and L&D decision-makers in organisations that could benefit from our training and coaching services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation:
Identify and qualify new business opportunities for training and coaching requirements with HR and L&D managers.
Outreach:
Use LinkedIn, email, and phone to initiate contact, qualify interest, set appointments and introduce the training and coaching services we represent.
Appointment Setting:
Book meetings for our managing director with interested prospects.
Supporting materials:
Generate and utilise any relevant marketing materials with the support of company website and resources.
CRM Management:
Maintain and update CRM (or lead-tracking system) with activity, leads, status, next actions. Follow up leads, maintain momentum, and convert interest into booked meetings.
Networking:
Leverage your existing contacts and build new ones within the Learning & Development/HR space.
Relationship Building:
Develop long-term connections that lead to repeat business.
Market Intelligence:
Stay informed about trends in corporate training and L&D needs.
Reach Targets:
Achieve agreed KPIs for lead generation, meetings booked, and pipeline growth.
About You
Proven experience in
business development/lead generation
within the
training, coaching, or L&D sector
. (Ideally dealing with selling training programmes, management development, leadership development, people development skills).* Demonstrable track record of generating new business leads from scratch, converting leads, and setting up meetings with decision-makers (HR / L&D managers).
Existing network of HR and Learning & Development professionals is highly desirable.
Comfortable working via LinkedIn outreach, email outreach, and picking up the phone to speak directly to prospects.
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
Familiar with CRM tools and LinkedIn Sales Navigator (or similar).
Self-motivated, results-oriented, able to work independently, manage own time, prioritise and deliver.
Self-employed status or willing to work on a freelance basis, based anywhere in the UK.
