The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Freelance Senior Asset Management Consultant to join our network of experts. This is a unique opportunity for an independent professional to collaborate with our internal teams on an intermittent, as-required basis, supporting a broad range of client engagements. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our client solutions, bringing deep asset management expertise to critical discovery phases and supporting the successful delivery of projects.

Role Overview:

As a Freelance Senior Asset Management Consultant, you will primarily support our internal project teams, lending your senior expertise to complex asset management challenges. Your contributions will be crucial during the initial client discovery sessions, helping to define project scope and requirements. You will then provide ongoing support to ensure the successful execution and delivery of these projects, often interacting directly with clients to ensure alignment and manage expectations.

Key Responsibilities:



Collaborate closely with internal project managers and technical teams to understand client needs and project objectives across diverse industries. Lead or co-lead client discovery sessions, expertly identifying key asset management pain points, opportunities, and requirements. Contribute to the development of tailored asset management strategies, frameworks, and roadmaps. Provide senior-level technical guidance and expertise on various aspects of asset lifecycle management, including: Asset Criticality Analysis Maintenance Strategy Development (RCM, FMECA, PMO) Reliability Engineering principles and application Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Asset Performance Management (APM) Data Analysis for asset performance improvement Maintenance and Operations process optimisation Support the creation of high-quality project deliverables, reports, and presentations. Act as a subject matter expert, offering insights and recommendations to both internal teams and clients. Participate in client workshops and review meetings to ensure project alignment and successful outcomes. Contribute to the continuous improvement of our internal methodologies and tools.

Required Qualifications & Experience:



Senior-level experience (7+ years)

in Asset Management, Reliability Engineering, or Maintenance leadership roles, preferably within a consulting environment or large asset-intensive organisations. Proven experience across a

diverse range of asset types and systems

, demonstrating adaptability to various industrial contexts (e.g., rotating machinery, static equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation, civil infrastructure, pipelines). Strong understanding of international best practices in Asset Management (e.g., ISO 55000 series). Demonstrable experience in conducting client discovery, requirements gathering, and solution definition. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical teams and senior client stakeholders. A pragmatic, problem-solving approach with a strong focus on delivering tangible value. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines on an intermittent basis.

Engagement Model:



This is a freelance, business-to-business (B2B) engagement. Work will be primarily remote, with travel to client sites and/or our office in the UK or South Africa required on an as-needed basis for specific project phases (e.g., kick-offs, workshops, final presentations). Travel expenses will be reimbursed as per company policy. Payment will be on a project-by-project or daily rate basis, agreed upon before each engagement.
