Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and culturally fluent French-Cameroonian Interpreter to join our team. The ideal candidate will bridge communication gaps between English-speaking and French-speaking individuals, with a deep understanding of the unique linguistic and cultural nuances specific to Cameroon. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and effective communication in various professional settings.
Key Responsibilities
Provide real-time interpretation between French (specifically with a Cameroonian accent and dialect) and English. Work in a variety of settings, including legal, medical, business, or community services. Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Accurately convey tone, meaning, and cultural context during interpretation. Prepare for assignments by researching technical terminology and subject matter.
Qualifications
Experience:
Proven professional experience as an interpreter is required.Certification:
Relevant interpretation certification from a recognized body (e.g., DPSI, IoL, or similar) is highly preferred.Linguistic Skills:
Native-level fluency in French with a strong grasp of Cameroonian accents, slang, and cultural references. Native-level fluency in English.Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: 15.00-20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 per week
Work Location: In person
