Job Title: Front of House (FoH) Supervisor

Department: Front of House

Reports To: Front of House Manager

Role Purpose



The Front of House Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the front of house team, ensuring high standards of customer service, operational efficiency, and full compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Health requirements. The role supports the FoH Manager in driving performance, managing people, and maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organised operation.

Key Responsibilities



Operational Leadership & Customer Experience



Supervise front of house operations during service periods, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery Act as the senior FoH presence on shift in the absence of the FoH Manager Ensure consistently high standards of customer service and resolve customer issues professionally and promptly Lead by example, maintaining a positive, professional, and proactive attitude on the floor

Team Management & Supervision



Supervise, motivate, and support FoH team members during shifts Allocate duties, manage breaks, and ensure adequate staffing levels Support onboarding and on-the-job training of new team members Monitor performance and escalate issues to the FoH Manager where required Promote a strong team culture aligned with company values

Compliance, Health & Safety & Food Hygiene



Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, food safety standards, and Environmental Health Officer (EHO) requirements Carry out and document daily, weekly, and monthly checks (e.g. opening/closing checks, temperature logs, cleaning schedules) Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times by the FoH team Report hazards, incidents, near misses, and maintenance issues in line with company procedures Support audits and inspections, ensuring records are accurate and up to date

Cash Handling & Financial Controls



Responsible for end-of-day cashing up and reconciliation of tills Investigate and report discrepancies in line with company procedures Ensure correct use of tills, card machines, and POS systems by staff Maintain secure handling and storage of cash at all times

Stock Control & Ordering



Assist with placing orders for FoH supplies in line with agreed stock levels and budgets Carry out regular stock takes and report variances to the FoH Manager Ensure stock is stored correctly, rotated appropriately, and wastage is minimised Maintain availability of key service items during operating hours

Standards, Presentation & Housekeeping



Ensure front of house areas are clean, safe, and well presented at all times Monitor adherence to cleaning schedules and brand standards Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed correctly Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and uniform compliance within the team

Skills, Knowledge & Experience



Essential:

Previous supervisory experience in a hospitality or customer-facing environment Strong understanding of Health & Safety and food hygiene standards Confident cash handling and cashing-up experience Ability to lead, motivate, and manage people on shift Must be able to work evenings & weekends Ideally minimum 2 years experience in a similar role Strong organisational and communication skills
Desirable:

Food Safety Level 2 (or willingness to complete) Health & Safety training Experience with stock control and ordering systems Experience supporting EHO inspections or audits

Pay: 27,000.00-31,000.00 per year
