Front of House & Sandwich Maker

The Picnic Box, Ambleside

We're looking for a friendly, reliable and hands-on team member to join The Picnic Box, a quality-focused sandwich shop in Ambleside. This is a full-time hybrid role, combining front of house service with hands-on food preparation in a busy, well-loved takeaway.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and serving high-quality hot and cold sandwiches (experience preferred but not essential)*
Delivering warm, efficient and friendly customer service Making coffee and hot drinks Operating the POS / till system (experience preferred but not essential)*
Stock rotation, ordering and stock control Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and allergen control General front of house duties, including cleaning and end-of-day tasks

What We're Looking For:

A positive, reliable and detail-focused approach to work Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment Confident and friendly with customers Pride in presentation and consistency Previous food, coffee or POS experience is a bonus, but not essential

Hours:

Typically 37.5 hours per week. Some flexibility regarding hours is preferred to support the needs of the business Typically, 7:30am - 3:30pm, 5 days per week 30-minute break Availability for regular weekend & bank holiday work is essential

Pay:

26,520 per year . Paid monthly*

Holiday Entitlement:

28 days paid holiday per year, inclusive of bank holidays, in line with UK statutory requirements.

Training & Support:

Full training provided, including:
o Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene certification

o Allergen awareness training

o In-house systems and practices
