We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our vibrant team at Potarch Cafe. This a dynamic role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and being part of a team that delivers excellent service.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and a memorable dining experience for guests. This position requires an individual who is passionate about hospitality and possesses strong communication skills.

Duties

Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression. Assist with seating arrangements and manage reservations efficiently. Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen or bar staff using the POS system. Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including dining tables, menus, and service stations. Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a courteous manner, striving for resolution to ensure guest satisfaction. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and maintain smooth operations during peak times. Support bartending duties as needed, including preparing drinks and managing the bar area. Assist colleagues with dishes, stock replenishment and open/closing duties
We are a small team and therefore the successful candidate will be willing and eager to assit in all areas of the Cafe, be it serving, running food, bartending and/or dishes.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; we welcome those eager to learn. Cash handling experience and basic maths skills Familiarity with food preparation techniques and food safety regulations is advantageous. Experience in catering services is a plus, as well as any barista and/or bartending experience. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as utilising own initiative. A proactive attitude towards helping colleagues and enhancing the overall guest experience is essential.
