Job Overview

Whighams Wine Cellars is an independent Wine Bar and Seafood Restaurant in the Edinburgh West end, but we also have a full bar offer (cocktails, beers, spirits...). We area friendly crowd looking for a new addiction to the team to help us to go through the busy festive season ahead.

Availability over the Festive Season is required, but we will be closed on Xmas day and Boxing day.

This role is for you if you can create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests and ensuring they receive exceptional service throughout their experience. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality and a keen attention to detail, contributing to the overall success of our establishment.

Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival. Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all dietary requirements are noted. Serve food and beverages in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of presentation. Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, addressing any concerns promptly. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables and waiting areas. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and timely delivery of meals. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Handle cash and process payments accurately, demonstrating basic math skills. Deliver a professional service behind the bar, when serving customers or taking care of a drinks check for the restaurant

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is requiered Strong time management skills to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour, ensuring positive interactions with guests and team members alike. Familiarity with serving techniques and basic restaurant operations will be advantageous. Be open to learning all about our extensive wine list - in house training provided!
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
