The Duke of Oxford is a

family-run pub, restaurant and bar

. We pride ourselves on serving great food and drinks in a welcoming, all-inclusive environment. We are now looking for an

experienced, friendly, and professional person

to join our front of house team.

What we're looking for

Applicants should:

Be confident working across all areas of bar and restaurant service. Have barista coffee experience and good product knowledge. Understand basic licensing requirements. Be comfortable managing multiple tables and delivering excellent service to our restaurant guests. Be personable, approachable, and professional when dealing with customers and colleagues alike. Handle complaints calmly and effectively, escalating to management where appropriate. Be flexible, reliable, and a strong team player, while also capable of working independently when required.
Key Responsibilities

Greet and welcome guests, creating a positive first impression. Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of hospitality. Manage orders and coordinate with the kitchen to ensure smooth service. Maintain cleanliness and organisation across the front of house. Support the wider team when needed, including occasional cellar duties or setup tasks. Uphold food safety and health & safety standards at all times.
Requirements

Evening and weekend availability is essential. Flexibility with working hours. Previous experience in a pub/restaurant environment is highly desirable.
