The Holiday Inn, Nottingham is looking for a

Front Office Manager to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing management of the Front Desk Team and supporting the Nights Reception team. Shift work is expected 7am-3pm / 1pm - 9pm / 3pm-11pm and must be available to support Nights with shifts 11pm-7am as per business needs (i.e holiday cover/sickness).

The desired candidate must have Opera PMS experience and experience of managing people/similar role - however a good knowledge of alternative PMS system wills be considered - full training will be given the the successful candidate

The Holiday Inn Nottingham is located on Castle Marina Park, and is independently owned by HHG1 Nottingham.

The Hotel, has 128 Bedrooms, 3 Conference Rooms and a full service Restaurant with Bar.

TITLE:

Front Office Manager

SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE:



The smooth and efficient running of the Reception department, whilst maintaining the agreed standards of customer care and control of all accounting procedures.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:



1.To compile and implement all standards of operation in accordance with the general manager & Deputy General Manager

2.To ensure all reports/cash balance on a shift basis.

3.To check all petty cash is authorised by appropriate manager.

4.To check all ledger bills before being sent to accounts in line with hotel policy.

5.To achieve and drive targets/metrics as set out by IHG

6.Ensure that all staff is allocated daily duties and monitor performance daily as well as conduct regular yearly / mid yearly performance reviews.

7.To deal with customer comments and complaints in a professional and knowledgeable manner, in line with Brand Training.

8.To identify and act on any further training requirements within the department.

9.Ensure that the department is represented at all relevant hotel meetings and to organise and implement regular department meetings.

10.To maximise revenue through promotions, special offers in agreement with the general manager.

11.Be responsible for security of all monies and any discrepancies that may occur in these areas.

12.Attend training sessions and ensure staff in the department attends training sessions as and when required.

13.To ensure staff have a full knowledge of hotel facilities.

14.To complete a weekly rotas ensuring adequate coverage, effective holiday control and cost effective wages in line with project business.

15.To monitor timesheets in accordance with the weekly rota.

16.Make sure that all Company procedures are implemented and records are kept up to date and amended as required.

17.Ensure that all staff are motivated and trained in all aspects of their job, to include:

Departmental induction

Customer care

Upselling

Health and safety

Fire evacuation procedures

Complaint handling

Job skills

Personal hygiene

Security

Energy conservation

Food and beverage service

18.Within the Front office role you will also be expected to carry out duty manager shifts and to adhere to the roles and responsibilities of a duty manager.

19.Take responsibility for Health & Safety within your department.

20.Ensure that all equipment, furniture, fixtures and fitting are maintained to a high standard.

21.Comply with all legal regulations pertaining to Health, Safety, Fire and Employment legislation.

22.Assist staff and guests with an emergency evacuation of the hotel in accordance with Hotel Evacuation procedures.

23.To ensure staff wear the correct uniform, with their name badge, and maintain a high standard of personal presentation and punctuality.

24.Carry out additional reasonable requests by the Management Team and / or guests.
