Role Responsibilities





As Front Office Supervisor you will assist the Front Office Manager across all aspects of the Front Office department. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will ensure the guest experience is unique and brings The Bedford Hotel to life. This is a varied role covered many areas such as guest reservations, guest registration, porter services and concierge services, amongst others.


Ensure a warm, professional, and efficient welcome for all guests. Ensure smooth and helpful check in and check out procedures are implemented and trained consistently to all team members. Accurately and promptly fulfil guest requests, understanding and anticipating guest needs. Ensure communication procedures are effective and efficient on a day-to-day basis, so that service standards are not compromised. Work closely with the Reservation team to ensure maximum occupancy, rate and upsells. Monitor room availability, rate codes, and reservation changes. Support the Front Office Manager to ensure employee orientation and training is carried out. To have a full understanding and be able to operate and train all Front Office systems. Liaise with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Reservations, and FB to ensure seamless guest experiences. Communicate guest preferences, VIP arrivals, and operational updates. To ensure that your team are fully conversant with the facilities, services and special promotions offered by the hotel. Ensure that the team are punctual, polite, courteous and helpful to guests and colleagues Monitor success from guest feedback and company targets. Provide additional support to the concierge, ensuring guest experience is enhanced where possible. Ensure you have a sound knowledge of the local area regarding history, places of interest and special events and where further information can be obtained. Ensure all procedures day-to-day performance comply with legislative and hotel guidelines. Handle cash floats responsibly and ensure opening and closing balances are correct. Accurately process guest payments, including cash, card, and contactless transactions. Handle guest enquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally. Assist with training, coaching, and developing team members. Delegate tasks and manage daily staffing levels to meet operational needs. Ensure compliance with hotel procedures, health safety standards, and data protection policies. Prepare reports and communicate relevant information to management and other departments.

Key Requirements




Previous Front Office experience, preferably in a supervisor role. Pro-active in upselling and anticipating customer needs, as well as improving the bottom line. Excellent customer service skills, standards driven, good organisational skills. Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style. Excellent IT skills, with experience in using all key Microsoft packages. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
