Smart Pension was founded by finance and tech professionals to make workplace pensions and savings simpler and more accessible. Our mission? To improve long-term financial wellbeing--for everyone.


We believe in building products that create lasting impact, and we're just getting started. Over the next 12 months, you'll help shape an exciting new part of our platform: bringing our pension products directly to individuals, helping more people gain control of their future.

WHO YOU ARE:

You're a frontend engineer with professional experience building modern web applications. You enjoy creating thoughtful user experiences, writing maintainable code, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.


You're confident tackling features independently and improving how your team works.


We're looking for someone with hands-on experience in:

Core web technologies

- JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS, and the DOM

Modern React

- You're comfortable with hooks, component composition, and managing state

TypeScript

- You use types to write safer, more predictable code

Remix or Nextjs (or you're excited to learn remix )

- You understand how to navigate the frameworks and how SSR works

Testing

- You've used tools like Vitest, Jest, or Testing Library to test components and user flows

Communication

- You write clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and give kind, constructive feedback

A keen eye for UX

- You'll work with our UX team to adjust project requirements

Most importantly: You're eager to learn, teach, and contribute to something meaningful.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Contribute to front-end projects of all sizes--from improving engagement to building new journeys from the ground up Write clean, maintainable code (we'll support you as you grow your skills) Participate in code reviews and share feedback Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, QA, back-end and mobile developers Take part in knowledge-sharing across our wider front-end community Work with your Tech Lead to shape a clear career path
