Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fryer to join our chip shop. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As a Fryer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our meals are prepared to the highest standards, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our customers. This position requires working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, where teamwork and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook various food items using frying techniques while adhering to food safety guidelines. Ensure that all food is cooked to the appropriate temperatures and presented attractively. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils used in meal preparation. Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and reporting shortages as needed. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service during peak hours. Follow recipes accurately while being open to suggestions for menu improvements or new dishes. Participate in regular training sessions on culinary skills and food safety practices.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred, particularly in roles involving food preparation or cooking. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential for maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen. Familiarity with various cooking methods, particularly frying, is advantageous. A strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication skills are vital for success in this role. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques will be highly regarded.

Pay: 11.44-12.21 per hour
