About your team
The Investment Solutions and Services (ISS) business is central to our investment proposition, serving professional clients and financial institutions. The ISS Legal team works in close partnership with the business, delivering pragmatic and commercially focused advice across a broad spectrum of legal, regulatory, and conduct matters.
Our remit includes drafting and negotiating a wide variety of agreements fundamental to the firm's operations -- from cross-border fund distribution agreements with global banks, to Investment Management Agreements with institutional investors, to service agreements with brokers and custodians. We also play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives such as Sustainable Finance, evolving distribution models, and other business-critical projects.
About your role
We are seeking a commercially minded lawyer (circa 4-7 years' PQE) to support our distribution and institutional businesses. You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating distribution and investment management and advisory agreements, while navigating the regulatory landscape across the UK and Europe. The role requires close collaboration with both the legal function and business stakeholders, providing proactive, solutions-oriented support across a wide range of matters.
Key responsibilities include
Drafting, negotiating, and advising on distribution, investment management, and related agreements
Acting as a trusted adviser to stakeholders, delivering clear and commercially relevant legal advice
Leading legal input into strategic projects, regulatory developments, and business initiatives
Enhancing internal processes, including the development of templates, playbooks, and best practices
Lawyers in our team are expected to be business-facing, pragmatic, and collaborative -- enabling the business to grow while protecting the firm from legal, financial, and reputational risk. This role requires confidence, adaptability, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing team.
About you
Solicitor / lawyer qualified in England and Wales, Scotland or in a jurisdiction in the European Union with approximately 4-7 years' post-qualification experience, gained in-house and/or at a top-tier law firm
Strong drafting skills and excellent written and spoken English
Solid grounding in corporate and commercial law, with demonstrable knowledge of UK/European mutual fund products
Proven ability to manage complex transactions and projects with minimal supervision
Commercial, proactive, and solutions-driven mindset, with strong organisational and interpersonal skills
Ideally, experience with Investment Management Agreements, Investment Advisory Agreements and regulatory regimes such as MiFID II, AIFMD, and UCITS
Feel rewarded

And we'll be as flexible as we can about where and when you work - finding a balance that works for all of us. It's all part of our commitment to making you feel motivated by the work you do and happy to be part of our team.
