Job Description

The University of Cambridge is delivering a major, multi year Finance Transformation Programme (FTP) designed to modernise and future proof financial processes, systems, data and culture across the institution. This ambitious programme includes:
Implementation of Oracle Fusion as a new core financial system.
Development of Enhanced Financial Transparency (EFT) to improve insight, reporting and decision-making.

  • Transition to streamlined, efficient and sustainable financial operations.
This transformation will impact academic, professional services and operational communities across the University, spanning both finance and non-finance roles.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Change Lead to drive the programme's change and engagement strategy, with a strong focus on the people side of transformation. The role is responsible for shaping and delivering the overall change strategy, developing coordinated plans for communication, engagement, training and readiness, and ensuring staff across the University understand, prepare for and adopt new systems, processes and data structures.
You will work closely with programme leadership and stakeholders across Schools, Departments and UAS/non-school institutions to assess change impacts, analyse stakeholder needs, manage risks and challenges, champion user experience and maintain strong relationships. This includes leading readiness assessments, supporting cultural and behavioural change, ensuring clear and consistent communication, and embedding new ways of working that enable sustainable benefits from the Finance Transformation Programme.
Your Skills
You will bring significant experience leading organisational change within complex, multi stakeholder environments, ideally involving large scale system implementations or finance transformation. You will have strong expertise in change management methodologies, excellent communication and relationship building skills, and the ability to influence and engage staff at all levels. Experience with ERP implementations, particularly Oracle, would be advantageous. A collaborative, people-centred approach and the ability to navigate a diverse academic community will be key to your success.

Location
The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows. This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.
Funding for this post is available until 31 December 2027.
