Fulfilment Centre Site Manager

to join our growing team in Swindon. This isn't a desk job - you'll be actively involved in the day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient fulfilment processes.

About the Role



Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all daily operations within our fulfilment centre. This is a dynamic role where your leadership will directly impact our success and the well-being of our team. You'll be instrumental in achieving daily output targets, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring quality control. This role also involves supporting and implementing all internal and external customer requirements, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.

While our core hours are Monday to Friday, this is a

rotational contract

. You'll need to be flexible and prepared to work

weekends and rotational hours during peak times

to meet our operational demands.

Key Responsibilities



Oversee Daily Operations:

Lead and optimise all warehouse activities, from inbound to outbound, ensuring efficient workflows and high productivity. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the departments, assisting with people, processes, training, quality, and delivery targets.

Hands-On Leadership:

Be present on the warehouse floor, actively engaging with your team and supporting operations as needed. This role requires you to be hands-on, not just a desk job.

Resource Management:

Plan and organise the allocation of resources, including staff, equipment, and space, to ensure the warehouse runs smoothly and meets customer expectations.

Team Management & Development:

Guide, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. This includes training, coaching, and performance management to ensure your team is equipped to perform their duties effectively.

Health and Safety Champion:

Foster a culture of safety, ensuring strict adherence to all health and safety regulations and best practices. All warehouse staff must be trained and compliant with relevant health and safety policies and procedures.

Inventory & Quality Control:

Maintain accurate records of stock levels, movements, and transactions using appropriate inventory management systems and tools. Focus on quality control in all aspects of fulfilment.

Collaboration & Customer Focus:

Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, purchasing, and customer service, to ensure the warehouse meets the needs of the business and customer expectations. Respond to customer queries and complaints, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and effectively.

Continuous Improvement & Projects:

Continuously look for ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of warehouse operations, implementing changes and improvements as necessary. Drive projects assigned by the Operations Manager and take charge in their absence.

Policy & Procedure Implementation:

Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for the warehouse.

What We're Looking For



Experience:

A minimum of

3 years of experience managing a team

in a warehouse or fulfilment centre environment, with a proven track record of delivering results.

Flexibility:

Adaptability and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, including

weekends and rotational hours during peak times

.

Health & Safety Focus:

A strong understanding and commitment to health and safety protocols are essential, with experience in implementing health and safety policies and procedures.

Leadership Skills:

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

Operational Acumen:

Good understanding of inventory management principles and techniques, along with the ability to use warehouse management systems and tools effectively.

Problem-Solver:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.

Forklift Licence:

While not essential, a valid forklift licence is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

A degree or diploma in logistics or supply chain management is desirable but not essential.
