About the Role



We're looking for a

Full Stack Web Developer

who's passionate about building high-quality, scalable web applications using

TypeScript

across both front-end and back-end. You'll work closely with our product, design, and engineering teams to deliver performant, maintainable, and testable features that power our platform.

We ask that candidates demonstrate their skills and knowledge without the use AI assistance such as Chat GPT, CoPilot or equivalent . The People Experience Hub believes AI should be used as a powerful tool in addition to personal skills and not be relied upon to write code.

Key Responsibilities



Design, build, and maintain

React

front-end applications written in

TypeScript

. Develop

Express.js

APIs and services, integrating with AWS for deployment, storage, and infrastructure. Write clean, maintainable, and testable code across the stack. Implement modern

SCSS

workflows for modular, maintainable styling. Use appropriate

testing tools

(e.g. Jest, React Testing Library, Supertest) to ensure code reliability and performance. Collaborate with designers and backend engineers to translate product requirements into technical solutions. Participate in code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to improving our development processes. Monitor, debug, and optimize applications for performance and scalability.

Tech Stack



Frontend:

PostreSQL, Node.js, Express, TypeScript

Testing:

Jest, React Testing Library, Supertest (or similar)

Cloud / DevOps:

AWS (Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS, CloudFront, etc.), Docker

GitHub Actions, AWS CodeBuild, or similar

Requirements



You must be authorised to work in the UK, and we prefer candidates that are able to commute to our Northampton office at least weekly.

Essential Skills/Experience

Strong proficiency in

TypeScript

and

JavaScript (ES6+)

. 3+ years of experience building production-grade applications with

React

and

Express

. Experience with

AWS

services and deployment pipelines. Familiarity with

RESTful APIs

, authentication (JWT/OAuth), and security best practices. Working knowledge of

testing frameworks

(unit, integration, end-to-end). Strong understanding of

responsive design

,

performance optimization

, and

accessibility

. Experience with

Git

,

branching strategies

, and code review workflows. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have

Experience with

GraphQL

or

tRPC

. Familiarity with

Serverless frameworks

or AWS CDK. Exposure to

CI/CD automation

and

infrastructure as code

. Interest in

UI/UX design principles

or data visualization. Experience of integrating AI applications and models into SaaS platforms.

Relationships



In addition to being part of a small Engineering team, reporting into our Head of Engineering, you will be expected to collaborate with colleagues in Client Delivery, Sales and, importantly, Data & Analytics (particularly around integration of AI products).
