Full Stack Engineer/software Engineer 6mo Fixed Term To Fte

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Sociate AI is your backstage pass to what customers really want--listening in real time and syncing the hype straight to your marketing, socials, and e-comm. Because in fashion, timing is everything.

We're a fast-growing AI startup transforming how fashion and retail brands connect with their audiences. With smart data, stylish tech, and real-time feedback loops, we make sure your message hits right where (and when) it matters.

The Role

We're looking for a dynamic Full Stack / Software Engineer who thrives at the intersection of backend architecture, data engineering, and AI systems. You'll bring strong technical skills and a strategic mindset, playing a hands-on role in building systems that empower global brands to stay in sync with their customers.

You'll also contribute to managing projects end-to-end--from sprint planning to delivery--working across engineering, product, and business teams to keep us moving at fashion speed.

What You'll Do

Build and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs (including internal TypeScript SDKs). Design and manage data pipelines, inventory sync tools, and web scrapers. Lead and support cloud infrastructure projects -- primarily on AWS. Collaborate with our AI team on ML pipelines and model operations. Organize project workflows, timelines, and delivery goals for smooth execution. Write clean, testable, and maintainable code across both backend services and front-end features. Partner with product and business teams to translate ideas into technical solutions. Balance rapid delivery with long-term architectural stability and performance.

What We're Looking For

3-5+ years of full-stack software development experience in fashion, retail or ecommerce domain. Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and modern backend architectures. Hands-on experience with Shopify app development or Shopify API integrations (a strong plus). Experienced with AWS (Lambda, EC2, RDS, etc.). Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL workflows, and version control (Git/Bitbucket). Proven ability to coordinate technical projects and work cross-functionally with diverse teams. Comfortable writing and reviewing TypeScript for both client and server environments. Awareness of ML operations, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure best practices. Exposure to fashion, retail, or e-commerce domains is a plus. A collaborative, proactive, and clear communicator with strategic thinking skills.
