About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Network Engineer to join our major clients growing IT team in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity to play a crucial part in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, high-performing, and scalable network infrastructures. Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
Handle circuit ordering and DWDM deployments.
Work in Nexus 7k / Cisco 6500 environments (Arista experience is desirable but not essential).
Document and map all site connectivity in detail to identify business areas and stakeholders, producing runbooks for migration tasks.
Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline network operations.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate application requirements into robust network solutions.
Ensure network security by applying best practices and performing regular vulnerability assessments.
Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues efficiently.
Keep up to date with the latest networking technologies and trends, recommending upgrades as needed.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers.
Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of network designs, configurations, and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Full Stack Network Engineer or in a similar role.
Strong expertise in network architecture and engineering, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, LAN/WAN, and QoS.
Proficiency in network automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
Deep knowledge of network security protocols and best practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Visio.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS) are highly advantageous.
