The Role



We're seeking a talented Full-Stack Developer & UI Designer to help build innovative web applications that showcase our geospatial and tree management technology solutions. This role focuses on creating an intuitive, high-performance React application with exceptional user experiences whilst also developing and maintaining robust back-end infrastructure for geospatial data management.

Location & Working Arrangements



This position is based at Sheffield Tech Parks, Cooper Buildings, Arundel Street, Sheffield, S1 2NS. We offer hybrid working flexibility, however we require a minimum of three days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities



Design and develop modern, responsive web applications using React and related technologies Create comprehensive UI/UX designs and user flows for complex data-driven applications Build and maintain back-end services and APIs for geospatial data processing Manage and optimise spatial databases and data workflows Implement security best practices and ensure application and data security Translate complex geospatial and tree management data solutions into intuitive, engaging user interfaces Implement data visualisation and interactive mapping interfaces Optimise application performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility

Desirable Skills & Experience



Strong proficiency in React and modern JavaScript Experience with UI/UX design and creating user flows Database management experience (PostgreSQL/PostGIS preferred) Understanding of web security principles and best practices Experience with version control (Git) Experience with QGIS for geospatial data analysis and processing Knowledge of network architecture and server management Knowledge of data visualisation libraries Experience with mapping libraries (Leaflet, Mapbox, etc.) Proficiency in design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD Understanding of RESTful APIs and integration patterns Back-end development experience (Node.js, Python, etc.) Experience with containerisation and deployment (Docker) Experience in the environmental, forestry or arboriculture sectors
