We're looking for a Digital & Website Developer to join our start-up e-commerce team on a project basis, with the potential to transition into a permanent role.
At VAMCO, we manufacture health food products and operate out of our HQ in North London. You'll take ownership of our WordPress ecosystem (Elementor + WooCommerce) and work closely with our marketing and design team to plan, build, and launch projects that support our digital growth.

What you'll do
Delivery of high-quality digital services & content across our WordPress stack (Elementor Pro, WooCommerce).
Translate briefs, wireframes & designs into performant, responsive pages, components and microsites.
Design CX journeys and optimise funnels, forms, and micro-interactions that lift conversion.
Own CMS information architecture (IA), custom post types/fields, reusable patterns, and content governance.
Implement analytics & tracking (GA4, Tag Manager, pixels) incl. events, conversions, and UTM standards.
Build with quality: cross-browser/device QA, accessibility (WCAG 2.1+), Core Web Vitals, and SEO best practice (schema, meta, sitemaps).
Continuously improve performance (caching, image optimisation, code splitting, minimal plugin footprint).
Document & communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders; manage projects end-to-end.
Must-have skills
Deep WordPress & Elementor Pro
expertise (theming, templates, global styles, responsive controls).
Front-end:
HTML5, modern CSS (Grid/Flex), vanilla JS/TypeScript; accessibility and semantic markup.
PHP for WordPress
(hooks, filters, shortcodes, custom endpoints),
ACF/Custom Post Types
, WP-Query.
WooCommerce
customisation (templates, checkout/cart logic, coupons/fees), and secure form handling.
Data & tracking:
GA4, Google Tag Manager, pixel installs, consent handling.
Performance:
Core Web Vitals, caching (page/object), image optimisation, lazy loading.
QA discipline:
cross-device testing, regression checks, version control with Git.
Security & privacy:
reCAPTCHA/antispam, role hygiene, basic WAF/CDN familiarity, GDPR-aware data handling.
Nice to have
Experience with
CRON/scheduled jobs
, custom DB tables, and server-side queues for timed giveaways.
Familiarity with
, webhook/REST integrations.
Analytics dashboards (Looker Studio), basic A/B testing, schema markup, and technical SEO.
Design tools (Figma/Adobe) and ability to tidy up assets for web.
