Abacus is a Company specialising in hazardous delivery, warehousing and storage, air freight, shipping container freight, pallet networks and general haulage. It operates using its own vehicles to provide transportation services to over 100 customers.

Role

Full Time Cat C - 7.5tn Multi Drop Driver for Greater London and Home Counties

is required to deliver goods to customers, meeting all company standards for customer service, health and safety, quality, security and productivity, which includes ensuring completeness and correctness of all deliveries in line with Company procedures, policy, legislative guidelines and best practice.

Responsibilities

Complying with all transport legislation and road traffic regulations, with a sound knowledge or willingness to learn and adopt safe / fuel efficient driving requirements.

Completing vehicle checks prior to starting a journey each day, ensuring paperwork is completed, reporting issues to the TM and taking action as required before departure from the depot.

Ensuring the vehicle is correctly and safely loaded before departure with the right load from depot and customers locations.

Attending and participating in staff meetings, training, driver assessments, 121's, performance reviews and any other meetings as required.

Maintaining and promoting a positive image of Abacus; being polite, clean and presentable at all times and wearing the correct PPE as provided by the Company.

To follow the company procedure for vehicle breakdowns and RTA's, ensuring all incidents are reported as soon as is reasonably practicable to the Transport Manager.

Responsibility for the security of the vehicle & load at all times.

Ensuring all deliveries and returns are checked off & procedures are followed in line with Company & Customer guidelines.

Maintain contact with the Transport Office / Transport Manager, reporting any issues.

Keeping delivery vehicles clean and tidy, ensuring they cleaned / washed as instructed, using the correct cleaning fluids and technique to maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle.

Fuelling up and advising the Transport Manager of vehicle defects, incidents and maintenance issues as soon as is reasonably practicable.

On return, clearing the cab and back of vehicle, dealing with any returned products, passing on necessary paperwork / checking off with the nominated office staff.

Ensuring all Company equipment is maintained and utilised as instructed.

Displaying professionalism and congeniality at all times; being respectful, helpful, approachable and team orientated in order to build strong working relationships and a positive working environment.

Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday + 1 Saturday in four.

45 Hours + 28 days paid holiday including Bank Holidays.

Pay

16.27 per hour plus ADR bonus of 300 paid in June and December, over 45 hours paid at 24.41.
