Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef to join our small but passionate team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for well made, traditional 'pub' food and have a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals while adhering to food safety standards. This position is perfect for individuals who are self-motivated, happy to work alone and enjoy engaging with customers as we have a fantastic group of regular customers who will want to know all about you!

Duties

Work with the venue manager to develop our menu and create recipes with their feedback. Planning and execution of meal preparation, ensuring timely service during busy periods. Creating buffet menus for events. Developing new ideas for specials and seasonal menus. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and storage spaces. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards Create, place and receive all orders using our supply chain. Carry out regular stock counts and manage your GP.
Requirements

Proven experience as a chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant setting. Understanding of how to correctly cost a recipe and keep to a set GP when developing new dishes. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment operation. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations is essential. Ability to work effectively on your own as this is a solo venture. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a closely knit, front of house team. A passion for cooking and creativity in meal presentation is highly desirable. Flexibility to work later some evenings if required. Must be able to provide two references, including one from most recent employer.
