DAYCARE ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION

FULL TIME

We are expanding our team at Pawfect Companions.

We are looking for a hard working, reliable and dedicated dog lover who has previous experience working with dogs and who has a passion to see the business grow.

During the day you and the team will be responsible for making sure dogs have the best day at Dog day care. This means you will be supervising day care dogs with 2 x other full time members of staff with 24 dogs daily, ensuring the safety and enrichment for each of them throughout the day. You will be responsible to report back to the dogs families on collection and building brilliant relationships with our customers. You will be required to stimulate the dogs both physically and mentally. General cleaning of the day care throughout the day will also will be expected. Responsible for the supervision of all the dogs at all times, control and ensuring the safety of the dogs in our care. It is highly important within our dog day care we follow daily close interaction for each dog individually, using toys, games ,activities and use tools for safety levels of play and minimise stress for new arrivals.

Maintain visible observations of the dogs at all time and spread attention within the team. Monitoring control levels of play and follow instructions provided by management at all times. Keeping a close eye on dog interactions at all times. Identifying all dogs needs, allergies and Health issues. Reporting to Team Leader/Manager at all times and report of any concerns. Report illness, out of character, unusual behaviour, injuries to Management immediatly. Completing daily logs to report information on dogs daily. Feed dogs lunches and enrichment games and puzzles. You will be required to support and post social media posts, events, basic phone duties, basic reception duties, becoming a active team member and attending team meetings. Keeping a fantastic customer service to a high standard. And following cleaning duties on a daily basis. From time to time there might be other jobs that you are asked to complete.

Requirements

Must be happy, comfortable, confident and caring working with large group of dogs and someone who is knowlegable with all breeds and sizes and confidenet to engage with them all. Must help/attend 4 x events a year (out of day care hours) To enjoy the outdoors - whether rain or shine Strong communication skills, social and enthusiastic individual who can confidently fit in with a small team and keep to our high levek of customer service. The successful applicant must be methodical, organised and have attention to care in all aspects of the role.

Primary Duties

Interact with dogs in playgroups using appropriate toys and tools to ensure safe levels of play and minimising stress levels of all dogs in playgroup. Maintain visual observation of dogs at all times and spread attention and play among all dogs in playgroup. Control level of play by following dog management and control procedures and instructions provided by management. Use appropriate dog handling techniques as instructed by management. Use appropriate dog introduction procedures. Use appropriate praise and dog correction methods. Ensure you know all dogs in playgroup and can properly identify them. If not, request assistance from other staff or management. Watch all new dogs carefully and immediately consult with management if you have concerns. For all dogs in playgroup, report any unusual behaviour, or eliminations and injuries to management immediately. Ensure that all staff that relieve you for break or shift change know all dogs in group, the special needs dog status and any unusual behaviours or concerns you have been managing during your shift. Review information on the "playgroup" board in main room and in playroom before start of shift and comply with instructions. Complete dog incident reports timely when required. If you are not sure whether a report is required check with management. Exercising dogs correctly according to their needs and energy levels
Cleaning Duties

Complete general cleaning duties as posted or assigned Clean dog waste immediately and dispose of it as instructed Mop up accidents immediately Dust mopping/wet mopping floors as assigned. Removing rubbish from containers Disinfect outside area Emptying washing basket and drying it Cleaning water bowls, beds, kongs, and other toys Reception Duties Greeting customers and bringing dogs into playroom Handling payments Tracking dog attendance as needed Answering phones as needed Completing Dog assessments
