Job Description

We are looking for a vet technician to join our independent ambulatory equine practice. We are a close knit team looking for an open minded individual who is willing to learn new skills in a fast paced environment. The successful applicant must be 100% confident handling horses of all sizes and temperaments.

A full, clean, driving license and access to own vehicle is also essential.

Duties to include (but not limited to):

Assisting vets with a range of diagnostics and treatments including: dentals, lameness workups, x-rays, gastroscopes, laser surgery, joint injections and more.

Loading and unloading equipment into vets' vehicles.

Maintaining, charging and cleaning equipment.

Saving diagnostic images to clinical records.

Office cover if required, including answering telephone, making appointments, putting up medication for clients, worm egg counts, managing stock and much more.

If you are a team player with a good sense of humour, who is able to take direction and thrives in sometimes challenging situations, then you could be the right person for us. No veterinary knowledge or specific qualifications necessary but a passion for horses and other animals is a must.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm with some flexibility for a half day or early finish.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 13.00-14.00 per hour
