Job Description

Established in 2006, Scarlet and Violet is a busy place full of flowers and scent, a lot of chatter, creativity and a whole lot of leaves dropped on the floor. The flowers we choose have a distinctly garden feel; classic flowers arranged in a natural way.

We are looking for an experienced, full-time florist to join our busy shop 4 days a week. The shop is open Monday through Saturday, and you would be expected to be available to work most Saturdays. The salary range is variable and dependent on experience, but in line with industry standards and all of our employees earn above the London Living Wage. We are a small team, so all tend to muck in with all tasks.

Tasks will include:

Making and choosing flowers for customers face to face in the shop and orders for delivery, providing excellent and skilled customer service.
Installing events and weekly contracts
Taking orders, cashing up and stock maintenance.
Care and conditioning of flowers
Ensuring the shop is well stocked and beautifully presented with flowers
An experienced florist will:

Have previous floristry experience, ideally more than 2 years, and confident in hand tied, bunch making
Have a full clean UK driving licence, be happy to drive a van & ideally be over 25
Be available to work Saturdays
Be hard working and enthusiastic
Have excellent communication skills and the ability to speak and write fluent English
Have the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Some experience of working in a busy, customer facing, retail environment would be helpful!
