The Full-Time Gymnastics Coach and Programme Director will lead the planning, delivery, and development of gymnastics programmes across all levels within the club. This role combines hands-on coaching with management responsibilities, ensuring that all sessions are safe, enjoyable, and of a consistently high standard. The postholder will also oversee staff development, athlete progression, and the overall growth of the gymnastics programme.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoaching and Athlete Development
Deliver high-quality coaching sessions for recreational and competitive gymnasts across a range of ages and abilities.
Develop lesson plans and training programmes in line with British Gymnastics standards and the club's coaching philosophy.
Monitor gymnast progress, set individual goals, and provide regular feedback.
Create a positive and inclusive training environment that supports both enjoyment and performance.
Ensure all coaching activities are delivered in accordance with relevant health and safety guidelines and safeguarding policies.
Programme Management
Design and oversee the club's gymnastics programme, including recreational, pre-competitive, and squad pathways.
Manage class timetables, competition calendars, and coaching schedules.
Maintain accurate records for attendance, gymnast progress, and performance outcomes.
Support the growth and promotion of the club through community engagement, events, and open days.
Evaluate and continuously improve the quality and structure of the gymnastics programme.
Staff Leadership and Development
Line manage and mentor coaching staff, assistants, and volunteers.
Support staff training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with British Gymnastics requirements.
Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and quality assurance checks.
Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative team culture.
Administrative and Operational Duties
Work closely with club management on budgets, marketing, and member communications.
Assist in planning and running competitions, displays, and club events.
Ensure all policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and equality and diversity, are adhered to.
Liaise with parents, guardians, and external partners in a professional and timely manner.
