Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals and supporting the team at our independent, family run practice. This position requires a strong understanding of veterinary practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a full time day nurse ( 5 days, Monday to Friday, 8.5 hour days). Weekends and night shifts will occasionally be required, in addition to this.

Duties

Administering medications and injections. Preparing animals for surgery. Monitoring and maintenance of animals under anaesthesia. Monitoring and treatment of hospitalised patients, utilising a proactive approach to care plan contributions. Performing nurse clinics. Maintenance of accurate, legible patient and client records using the practice PMS system, controlled drug register and radiography exposure chart.

Requirements

Qualified Veterinary Nurse with relevant certification or diploma. Experience in a OOH veterinary setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided where required. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanour. A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing exceptional care.
