Job Description

A Pret Team Member or Team Member Star works as part of a team in a Pret shop.


They are responsible for creating an efficient & welcoming environment engaging and "wowing" our customers and producing great quality Pret food.


Key focuses for the role are teamwork, 6 key points of service, 6 key points of production, cleanliness, and productivity.

Key responsibilities

To maintain good relationships with all of the shop's team. To take on jobs to balance workload across team. To work in any area FOH and Kitchen, as requested by your manager (Hot Food, Coffee, etc) To work together to ensure the FOH and Kitchen and delivery business is the best it can be. To have a good knowledge of Pret standards in all areas of the shop. To understand the importance of the Hot Chef and Barista roles and have completed the training in these areas, as outlined in the TM training plan.

TM Star: To be an "Ace in Place" within your shop team. To act as a role model to other TMs demonstrating good Pret knowledge.*

Amazing Service: 6 Key Points of Service

Always follow the 6 Key Points of Service and deliver amazing customer service to the customers and wider community. Serve customers efficiently, politely, and in an engaging manner. Take the time to respond to customers' needs and deliver outstanding service. Complete F/O to Pret standards, maintaining beautiful counters, merchandising, and seating areas. To always put the customer first Always wear a clean and immaculate uniform on shift. Ensure products are presented in bags or on trays according to Pret standards. Have great Pret product knowledge and talk to the customers about our food and coffee

Well Loved Shop: Cleanliness and Health & Safety

Complete any induction courses upon joining pret Adhere to all aspects of kitchen 'health & safety' in accordance with the law and Pret standards. Be responsible for ensuring you follow Food Safety Standards; and for the Health and Safety of your team and customers. Complete all training to understand the Pret standards and safety processes you must follow. Always follow trained processes and immediately inform your manager when you believe standards or processes are not being met. Ensure a clean and inviting shop environment is maintained at all time inside and out.

The Right Pret People

Act as an ambassador to the local community, engaging with customers and promoting Pret's values. Participate when required in community events and initiatives to build positive relationships with residents and businesses. Take on jobs to balance workload across the team. Work together to ensure the shop and kitchen is the best it can be. Be an "Ace in Place" within your shop team, acting as a role model to other TMs by demonstrating good Pret knowledge

Delicious Food And Drink

A knowledgeable and fully coffee maker who promotes the importance of coffee quality and standards. Create delicious food according to Pret standards in an efficient, safe environment. Always follow the Steps of Production. Ensure stock is rotated and used according to standards.

Growing Sales

Drive sales growth through active involvement in any local initiatives, opportunities, and community events. Support the execution of successful launches. Ensure sufficient stocks of barista-prepared drink ingredients, packaging, and small equipment. Encourage clear and engaging communication between the kitchen and FOH to ensure business needs are met. Use promotional waste to sample and recognise customers with appropriate volume of drinks via Joy of Pret.

Shop Profitability

Complete and pass all TM and TM training in a timely manner. Adhere to financial standards on tills. * Consistently have high performance while maintaining good MTS quality.
