Support Worker Overview


We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. Applicants should have a genuine interest in senior care, dementia support, and patient wellbeing. Experience in healthcare or caregiving is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. Duties



Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements Help with mobility and transfer activities, including heavy lifting when necessary Engage clients in social activities and behavioural management strategies Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental wellbeing Assist with household chores and light housekeeping duties Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safety at all times Monitor health conditions and report any concerns to healthcare professionals Support clients with specialised needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or hospice care

Team Leader duties



-Will include the day to day running of the home.

- Supervising other members of staff.

- Provide support for staff and residents

- Implement behaviour management strategies when necessary

- Support individuals Learning disability's who have Forensic and Complex needs

- Drive Licence not essential but would be an advantage

Skills

- Experience in care or a similar role is advantageous

- Ability to delegate.

- Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.

- Competence in meal preparation for varying dietary requirements

- Familiarity with medication paper work, administration protocols and auditing .

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage others.

Skills



Experience in assisted living, nursing home care or home care environments preferred Knowledge of patient care techniques and caregiving best practices Familiarity with dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice or senior care is advantageous Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergencies Strong organisational skills for medication management and meal preparation Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients and team members Compassionate attitude with a patient-centred approach to care Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support Valid driving licence for transportation duties is desirable but not mandatory Childcare experience or additional caregiving skills are considered a plus
