Overall Role:
To make appointments, answer phone calls and generally assist patients of the practice. To carry out any administrative duties as required and perform such tasks as reasonably requested by the practice manager or the partners.
Specific Tasks include:
Ensure high standards of patient care for all patients, professionalism should be maintained at all times.
Maintain high standards of work practices; adhere to practice policies.
Ensure general tidiness/Cleanliness of reception area
Check that all equipment is in working order and document as such (for example faults with the printer/scanner etc.) Report all faults to the area manager
Greet patients in a professional, friendly manner on their arrival at the practice
Have appropriate forms signed by patients on their arrival at the practice
Give patients a medical history to fill in as and when appropriate
Make appointments for patients, including 6 months recall before they leave.
Undertake required duties associated with dental software
Answer and respond to telephone and email queries relating to patient treatment when necessary
Recognise and assist with all emergencies
Contact Laboratories, other Clinics and Disciplines in connection with models, appliances, specimens and results in relation to patient treatment and care.
Practice accounts including counting the cash taken for the day and giving to the principal/manager
Complete walk around at end of day.
To keep patient accounts under observation sending invoices/bad debt letters appropriately
To order sufficient administrative stock as and when required
Daily checking of the float balance and a record maintained
Maintain the petty cash record
To appropriately distribute practice mail
Ensure back up procedure is in place and being adhered too
Maintain fire records in practice folder. Sign off done and report any faults that you cannot resolve to the area manager.
