This is a full-time on-site role for a Pharmacy Dispenser based in Edinburgh City. The main responsibilities of the Pharmacy Dispenser include dispensing medical prescriptions, ensuring accuracy in dosage and quantity, checking for drug interactions, maintaining inventory, and providing customer service to patients. The Pharmacy Dispenser also works closely with pharmacists to answer questions and solve issues surrounding medication.
```Duties```
- Dispense prescription medications to patients accurately and efficiently
- Provide patient counseling and education on medication usage, side effects, and precautions
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
- Maintain accurate records of medications dispensed and patient information
- Manage inventory and order medications as needed
- Adhere to all pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety standards
Qualifications
??Pharmacy Dispensing NVQ Level 2 or equivalent recognized dispensing course is essential.
??Additional Pharmacy Accreditation would be highly advantageous but not essential.
??Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate calculations
??Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
??The ability to work well in a team, including the ability to communicate effectively
??Ability to adapt to new technology and software systems required for duties
??Able to follow instructions with accuracy and efficiently manage time and duties
??Strong prescribing knowledge and knowledge of medical conditions and drug interactions
??Able to cope with pressure and work efficiently and accurately, even during busy periods
```Experience```
- Previous experience as a pharmacy dispenser or pharmacy technician preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration and dosage calculations
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and electronic health records
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interactions
