Support Worker - To support autistic adults and adults with a Learning Disabilities/ We are recruiting for the following roles:



Rowland House in Harrow HA3 - 1 x Full-time Support Worker

They also promote independence and make a positive difference to the lives of each person we/you support.

We have embedded in our practice Positive Behaviour Support, Positive Behaviour Management, and other complementary approaches such as Intensive Interaction to reduce behaviours that may challenge or / and support people with changes in their support package.

Job Overview



To provide care in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements, reflecting policies and procedures and agreed standards under the direction of the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager and Senior Support Worker To support and enable people to maintain skills and personal interests whilst delivering person-centred care unique to the person being supported. This also involves supporting individuals in the community such as shopping, medical appointments, religious visits, swimming, cinema, exercise and recreation. To maintain current skills and undertake training and development as required from time-to-time to maintain and progress knowledge

Role Specific Duties:



Ensure each person is at the heart of care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing To support individuals (both male and female) with all aspects of their day to day living, enabling them to enjoy the best possible quality of life Compassion, good communication skills and a calm and caring manner are essential for this important role Ensure Care Plans and other information about how to support people at Rowland are followed Be responsible for informing the Shift lead or management of any changes in the needs of those we support. Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support

Develop effective working relationships with other employees Work in cooperation with members of the multi-disciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for people If desired by the person supported, maintain and develop relationships with family, friends and other people important in their life

Leading by Example



Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth Be a role model for other Support Workers and be an ambassador for the service Be professional, polite and reasonable at all times

Personal Responsibilities



Commit to achieving the relevant qualifications commensurate with the role Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management Understand and follow all policies and procedures relevant to the role Be open to learning opportunities All employees are required to complete an Enhanced DBS and provide eligibility to work in the United Kingdom (this will be paid for by Callaway Care on successful application)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. This hours are set via rota and this will involve early shifts, late shifts and some weekends (including bank holidays).

Salary: 12.30 per hour.

Location: North West London (Harrow) HA3 postcode

Experience:

NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (Preferred) 1 Year Adult Social Care Support Environment IT Competent Right to Work in the UK
