Shoots Training is launching a new Functional Skills Trainer role -- a chance to join a supportive, people-focused organisation with excellent learner feedback and glowing reports from Ofsted, NCFE, and Matrix. Our trainers are more than teachers -- they're mentors, motivators, and key partners in a learner's journey. You'll be the first point of contact for your learners, helping them move forward with skills that matter.


What You'll Bring


We're looking for someone who:


Has experience delivering and assessing Functional Skills (English and maths) up to Level 2
Brings energy and passion to sessions, making learning engaging and effective.
Ideally holds a teaching qualification (e.g. AET, PTLLS) and an assessing qualification (e.g. A1, CAVA), or is willing to train towards them.
Can manage their own time -- self-motivated, well-organised, and happy working independently.
Is confident with IT and online delivery tools -- this role is remote, so digital fluency is essential.


About the role


You'll deliver live online workshops to small groups of learners throughout the week, with optional 1:1 support. Sessions are engaging, friendly, and practical -- no dull Zoom lectures here!


You'll run around 16 x 1 hour workshops across the week. Our sessions currently take place between anytime between 8am and 7pm, however we can offer some flexibility in terms of the best days and times that may suit your availability.. You'll help learners build confidence and pass Functional Skills qualifications, working with people from all walks of life -- from apprentices to adults returning to learning. The focus is on real outcomes, personalised support, and a positive, motivating environment


Your Key Duties & Responsibilities will include:


Plan and deliver interactive online workshops for Functional Skills English and maths (Level 1 and 2).
Support learners with 1:1 coaching to achieve success.
Create a welcoming, supportive virtual classroom that motivates learners.
Track learner progress using digital tools, providing clear feedback and adapting delivery as needed.
Work collaboratively with the wider team to share best practice and enhance the learner experience.
Take part in online team meetings, training, and CPD -- all remote and flexible.
Bring ideas, energy, and care to every session -- you're not just delivering content, you're making a difference.
