About the role



This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the personal development of students as part of our Learning Coach Team. You will work within Avonbourne Academies under the general direction of the SENDCo who is responsible for the overall policy of the specialist educational programme for students with SEN needs. As part of this role, you will deliver functional skills in English, Maths and Science from Entry Level to Level 1 & Level 2, to students who may struggle with the GCSE pathway.

Be caring, patient and supportive with a positive attitude Passionate and hardworking to champion vulnerable students Have a high level of literacy & numeracy Have excellent communication skills Be able to motivate, inspire and encourage students Be resilient, resourceful and have high expectations of students' achievement and behaviour Enjoy working as part of a hardworking team Ideally have previous experience of working in education Be committed to professionally develop via our in-house CPD offer and external providers

The successful candidate will ideally have a knowledge and understanding of:



Barriers to students' learning Be able to deliver functional skills from Entry Level, to Levels 1 & 2 in English, Maths and Science Targeted small group and 1:1 programmes How children learn and how to engage with them
