LGPS Central is looking for an experienced and skilledFund Accountant to join our brilliant Finance team. As a key member, you'll support the Head of Finance and Finance Manager to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the company's financial operations. You'll play a significant role in financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, regulatory and cost-sharing reporting to partner funds, and overall operational finance.
What you'll be doing:

As our Fund Accountant, you'll be right at the heart of delivering an exceptional experience to our clients. Here's a flavour of what you'll get involved in:
Manage daily cash flow activities, including cash management, bank reconciliations, and treasury operations, ensuring effective risk management and compliance with financial policies.
Review and reconcile quarterly Net Asset Values (NAV), including equalisation and unitisation calculations, to ensure accurate valuation of investment funds.
Perform periodic reconciliations of assets, liabilities, income, and expenses, maintaining accuracy across fund accounting records and supporting regulatory compliance.
Calculate fee accruals and prepayments, support the calculation of charging bases, and assist in generating income from fund management activities.
Prepare and contribute to quarterly cost transparency reports, investor performance reports, and regulatory reports including AIFMD returns.
Assist in the valuation process of the company's partnerships by obtaining and reviewing valuation policies from delegated managers to ensure robust and compliant valuations.
Liaise with external and internal auditors by providing necessary information, supporting audit planning, and assisting in the smooth management of audit processes.
Oversee the activities of outsourced administrators, ensuring the operation of effective controls, reconciliations, and accuracy within the company's accounting systems.
Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of annual reports and accounts, regulatory returns, budgets, and cash flow forecasts, supporting effective financial planning and reporting.
Provide financial advice and information to the Head of Finance and other managers on projects, business cases, tax administration, financial risks, and client reporting to support informed decision-making.

LGPSC is jointly owned on an equal shares basis by those Partner Fund, and it is responsible for managing 45bn+ of their assets. It is one of eight Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) asset pools in the UK.

Requirements
----------------
Able to communicate complex and highly technical matters in a way which is understandable and relevant.
Fund Accounting experience with knowledge of NAV, Valuations, Equalisations
Experience of producing and presenting quarterly Fund Performance reports.
Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills, able to develop pragmatic solutions to complex problems with customers
Good report-writing and verbal communication skills.
Active participant in continuous professional development, with an up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting, finance, investments and pensions matters.
Able to build effective relationships at all levels of the company.
Highly organised and able to plan work to deadlines and manage competing priorities under significant time pressures.
Good interpersonal, communication and people management skills.
Qualifications
Qualified CCAB/CIMA Accountant; or
Part-qualified CCAB/CIMA Accountant with relevant Fund Accounting experience.
