In an increasingly competitive environment BBC Children in Need aims to develop a sustainable income pipeline from several different fundraising audiences. This role, which sits within the Public Fundraising Team, is focused on both the acquisition and retention of school supporters. It requires a relationship fundraiser who is a creative and dynamic self-starter, able to grow engagement and long-term commitment from our existing supporters, and to generate new income.

The role will focus on executing a comprehensive school\'s campaign, delivered in partnership, to maximise engagement and revenue from schools across the UK.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Manage all operational elements of the schools fundraising programme, including relationships with multiple school partners
  • Work with teams and stakeholders from across CiN to develop an integrated schools campaign (across a range of channels/platforms including, email, social media, website and PR) to realise targets for income and reach.
  • Extraction and extrapolation of data to identify new opportunities with schools\'.
  • Creation of online and offline school supporter journeys to nurture a supporter-focused fundraising approach, in order to retain and attract new donors.
  • Managing talent relationships to support our schools campaign.
  • Produce regular reports analysing progress against pre agreed KPIs - including financial targets - identify and present key learnings from fundraising activity.
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience

  • Experience of working with teams to organise high profile campaigns, including subsequent campaign/data analysis - using learnings to amend activity and processes.
  • Experience of managing relationships and developing bespoke programmes to drive revenue and engagement.
  • Proven track record of project management and mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Experience and significant understanding of schools and/or schools marketing.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with a track record of meeting and exceeding targets.
  • Experience and understanding of CRMs.
  • Track the expenditure and ROI in relation activity to ensure they remain within budget and achieve set targets.
  • Experience of building excellent cross-directorate relationships and collaborating with different internal teams
  • Good understanding of the digital landscape and its benefits to the education sector and the opportunities it provides to support their fundraising
  • Experience in fundraising would be desirable, but is not essential

Location: Any BBC Location (Occasional travel to London and Salford office required)
