Part-time hours to suit - 24,500 - 27,500 FTE

Working from home, with occasional travel to meetings. Ideally based within commuting distance of the South East of England or Slough to remain closely connected with the team.

We are looking for someone who can support our fundraisers and share their experience to engage others to support our work.

Background


Ocular melanoma is the most common eye cancer in adults, with approximately 600-700 people a year diagnosed in the UK. It can be a terminal condition, but we are seeing improvements in the treatment people receive.

Our mission is to change the landscape for people with ocular melanoma cancers by uniting the wider community so that every person receives the support, information, and treatment they need to live well for longer.

We do this by:

Promoting and protecting the physical and mental health of people with ocular melanoma and their families in the United Kingdom through the provision of support, information, education and practical advice. Promoting research for the public benefit on the subject of ocular melanoma and to publish the useful results.

Overview of the Role



We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Fundraising and Marketing Assistant to support the delivery of our fundraising campaigns and marketing activities. This is a varied role that plays a key part in helping us grow income, raise awareness of our cause, and engage with supporters and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:



Fundraising Support

- Assist in the delivery of community fundraising, individual giving, corporate partnerships, and events.
- Support donor stewardship through timely communications and acknowledgments with donors.
- Help maintain the supporter database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Ensure fundraisers are supplied with merchandise and support to maximise their efforts.

Marketing & Communications

- Assist in the creation of content for social media, newsletters, the website, and marketing materials.
- Schedule and monitor social media posts across multiple platforms.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of marketing campaigns and fundraising appeals.
- Support the production of digital and printed materials, ensuring they align with brand guidelines.

General Support

- Respond to supporter and public enquiries by phone, email, and social media.
- Help coordinate logistics for events and campaigns.
- Undertake administrative duties to support the wider team.

Person Specification



Essential:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.

- Experience in a similar role, ideally within a charity or non-profit setting.

- Experience in digital content creation utilising software such as Canva or Adobe Express.

Desirable:

- Familiarity with donor databases (e.g. Salesforce).

- Experience using Wordpress to design and manage website pages.

- Experience using social media for business or organisational purposes.
