Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Funeral Director to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing outstanding service to families, overseeing all aspects of funeral planning, transportation, and coordination. You will work directly with families to ensure their wishes are met with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide sensitive and professional guidance to bereaved families through the funeral planning process.
Arrange transportation and logistics for funerals, including preparing and filing necessary documentation.
Coordinate with third-party suppliers (e.g., florists, crematoriums, cemeteries) to ensure smooth operations.
Oversee funeral services, including the preparation of the deceased and managing the funeral procession.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of funeral arrangements.
Manage and supervise funeral staff during services and other related tasks.
Ensure compliance with legal and health regulations, as well as company policies.
Offer support and advice to families throughout the funeral process.
Key Requirements:
Previous experience in funeral services or a similar role is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an empathetic and compassionate demeanor.
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
Full driving license and the ability to operate company vehicles.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
Desirable:
Knowledge of funeral industry regulations and best practices.
Professional qualifications related to funeral services (e.g., Funeral Directing Diploma).
Previous experience in a client-facing role is an advantage.
