We are seeking a reliable and efficient Delivery Driver to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for transporting goods from our clients warehouse to a variety of properties, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Additionally, items will be required to be picked up from customers properties. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and the ability to handle heavy lifting as needed. A valid commercial driving licence is preferred for this position.
To be successful the candidate must also pass with a clear basic DBS check.
Responsibilities
Drive a 3.5t delivery van to transport goods safely and efficiently to designated locations.
Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling of all products.
Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies in orders.
Perform routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
Assist in the warehouse as needed, including heavy lifting and organisation of stock.
Utilise the hand-held system provided to manage and log your days work.
Experience
Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is highly desirable.
Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety practices is an advantage.
Experience in a warehouse environment will be beneficial for understanding logistics operations.
Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and team members effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands of the job is required.
Shift Pattern
This job is a 4 day week (4 x 6.5 hour shifts), to include EVERY SATURDAY and 3 other days during the week (no Sunday work)
Rotas are provided a month at a time
If the work for the day requires the shift to continue passed 6.5 hours, employees are expected to finish the days jobs, and overtime will be paid as necessary.
