Job Description

Middleton's Fine Art Logistics are looking for a furniture and art handler and driver (full time and part time roles available) to join our growing team based in South East London but with consignments across the UK and Europe. In this varied and interesting role you will be responsible for safely handling and transporting goods and ensuring timely deliveries, collections and installations.

Hours of work

7:45am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday (Full time)

You may sometimes be required to work evenings (weekend work is optional) and both are paid as overtime.

Salary

28,500.00-32,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities will include:

Handling and packing of various types of fine art and furniture including sculptures and antiques and securing in vehicles for safe transport Wrapping and packing items for national and international shipping Installation/De-Installation of various fine art and furniture Inspecting artworks to determine how, where, when, or if to touch them and how to pack for transport Loading and securing items correctly onto the vehicles for safe transit. Support the smooth operation of our warehouse, logging incoming and outgoing consignments and keeping the space clear and safe. Driving a vehicle (up to 3.5 T), locally and long distance between cities and around Europe Efficiently handling paperwork including labelling, delivery and collection notes and detailed condition reports with photos Communicating with clients which includes Auction Houses, galleries and individuals. Communicating with the operations team throughout the day. Adhering to GDPR guidelines and exercising discretion.

The right candidate will have the following:

Clean driving record Be physically fit and have the ability to work comfortably on ladders, scaffolding and/or mechanized lifts Professional appearance and demeanour Willingness to work around the UK and Europe Willingness to spend nights away for longer trips Some knowledge/experience handling high end goods would be advantageous
