Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Porter to join our removals team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing a stress free moving experience for our customers. This position involves various tasks related to furniture handling, packing and loading of vans & trucks. and general warehouse management. A strong work ethic and the ability to perform heavy lifting are essential for success in this role.

Normal working hours are Monday - Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm however flexible start and finish times are required depending on location of move. some overnight stays away may be required, additional expenses payments will be made for this and overtime rate will be paid over 40 hours.

Responsibilities

Assist with Loading and unloading goods from lorries and other vehicles Handle materials with care to prevent damage during transportation Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to safety protocols Provide good customer service to our clients, ensuring a stress free move Assist in general housekeeping of vehicles and workspaces Maintain an organised warehouse environment, including proper storage of materials A willingness to learn new skills

Qualifications

Previous furniture handling or removals experience preferred but not essential Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role Able to work as part of a team but also confident to work alone Good communication skills, organisational skills and attention to detail Be able to muti task and problem solve A proactive attitude towards safety and efficiency in the workplace Must have excellent attendance and timekeeping
