JOB OVERVIEW

Carsington Sailing Club is looking for a friendly and hardworking Galley Assistant to support the smooth

operation of our club's galley (kitchen). This role involves assisting with food preparation, serving members

and guests, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be

enthusiastic, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Food Preparation & Service

Assist in preparing and serving food and drinks to members and visitors.

Ensure food is presented well and served promptly.

Help with stock replenishment and food storage.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene in compliance with health and safety

regulations.

Ensure efficient service during busy club events, regattas, and social gatherings.

Customer Service

Provide excellent customer service to club members and visitors.

Take orders and handle cash/card payments if required.

Assist in catering for club events and regattas.

Galley Hygiene & Maintenance

Keep the kitchen and dining area clean, following food hygiene and safety standards.

Wash up and ensure utensils, crockery, and equipment are kept tidy.

Dispose of waste appropriately and assist with stock rotation.

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in catering, hospitality, or food service management.

Food hygiene and safety certification (or willingness to obtain one).

Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure during busy periods. An interest in sailing or experience working in a club environment is a plus Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and manage competing priorities. A proactive and friendly approach to engaging with members, volunteers, and staff.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 23 per week
