Brighton College Prep School is seeking to appoint a Gap Assistant to start in January 2026. This is a fixed-term role, ending in August 2026, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
To assist in the games, music, drama and dance department, preparing equipment for lessons, supporting during lessons and on fixtures or in concerts and productions.
To help with clubs and activities at lunchtimes and after school.
To help with regular duties, supervising in the playgrounds and dining hall.
To help manage the lost property system in school.
To be responsible for tidying specific areas of the school.
To assist staff with displays.
The role may involve working in the EYFS with children from the age of three years old.
Any other reasonable management request to support the day-to-day running of the school.
Hours of work:
The post-holder will work 46.25 hours per week: 7.45am - 5.30pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunchbreak, Monday to Friday inclusive.
Some flexibility with start and finish times will be required.
Holidays:
The role is term time only (35 weeks per year).
Annual leave entitlement is included in the salary for this role.
Holidays should be taken outside of the working weeks.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
This role will involve daily contact with pupils and the successful candidate will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
