Houston's Coaches is a very well-known and highly regarded growing bus and coach company based in Lockerbie Dumfries and Galloway. We are dedicated to providing reliable transportation services to our passengers and a first class private hire service to clients. With a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, we strive to maintain the highest standards in our operations.

We also have a thriving repair and MOT Testing service for private vehicles and due to rising demand we are looking to expand our team on this side of the business

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic tools Conduct inspections, testing, and evaluations to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition Replace parts and components as needed, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards Supervise a small team of apprentice mechanics and nurture their talent Ideally, be qualified in carrying out MOT testing (but training may be provided for the right candidate) Provide excellent customer service, ensuring all clients' vehicles are handled with care Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a mechanic Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Ability to handle various tools and diagnostic equipment Valid driver's license (clean driving record) Certification from college or completion of an apprenticeship is a plus Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work as part of a team
