Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and a strong understanding of landscape maintenance. This role involves maintaining the beauty and health of gardens, ensuring that all plants thrive and the outdoor spaces are well-kept. The Gardener will work both independently and as part of a vineyard/orchard maintenance team, contributing to the overall aesthetic appeal of our grounds.

Duties

Perform regular maintenance tasks including pruning, trimming, weeding, and planting. Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for various gardening tasks. Irrigate plants and manage watering schedules to ensure optimal growth. Assist in the design and implementation of new garden layouts and planting schemes. Monitor plant health, identifying pests or diseases, and taking appropriate action. Maintain garden equipment and tools in good working condition. Collaborate with other team members to ensure high standards of landscape maintenance.

Skills

Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to gardening tasks. Strong knowledge of groundskeeping practices, including irrigation techniques. Experience in growing a variety of plants and understanding their specific needs. Ability to perform landscape maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively. Good physical stamina for manual labour, including lifting and standing for extended periods, working in all weathers. Attention to detail with an eye for aesthetics in garden design.
