Summary

We are seeking a skilled Gardener to join our team and manage the gardens across both of our sites. In this role, you will be responsible for not only maintaining the beauty of our grounds, ensuring that our outdoor spaces are pristine and welcoming for all events, but working with the owners to develop the planting and grounds over the next few years. Your expertise in plant knowledge as well as being able to build paths and maintain the grounds will play a vital role in enhancing the overall guest experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain and enhance the gardens and grounds of Wilde Lodge. Perform regular landscaping tasks including planting, pruning, and weeding. Set up and manage an irrigation system for the plants and manage watering schedules to ensure healthy growth. Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various gardening tasks as well as to build infrastructure, such as fencing and stone walls to improve the look of the site. Monitor plant health and address any issues related to pests or diseases. Collaborate with the events team to prepare outdoor spaces for weddings and events.

Requirements

Proven experience in gardening or groundskeeping is essential. Strong knowledge of plant care, landscape maintenance, and irrigation techniques. Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely. Ability to drive a trailer is essential. Ability to travel and manage your time between both sites. Excellent attention to detail with a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
